Partnership with the University of Regensburg (Germany)

TSU Faculty of Law hosted representatives of the University of Regensburg - Professor Gerrit Manssen, Professor Robert Uerpmann-Wittzack and researcher Ketevan Kistauri.

 

A meeting with the representatives of the University of Regensburg was held by the Dean of the TSU Faculty of Law, Assoc. Prof. Tamar Zarandia, the deputy deans - Prof. Irma Kharshiladze and Assoc. Prof. Giorgi Dgebuadze, as well as Prof. Paata Turava and Assoc. Prof. Koba Kalichava.  

 

On April 3 and 4, 2024, a German-language public lecture in administrative law was conducted by the University of Regensburg professors - Prof. Dr. Gerrit Manssen and Prof. Dr. Robert Uerpmann-Wittzack for the TSU Faculty of Law students.

 

Within Prof. Dr. Gerrit Manssen's public lecture, a discussion was held on the place and role of administrative law in the legal state, on the jurisdiction and the substantive jurisdiction in German administrative courts. Prof. Dr. Robert Uerpmann-Wittzack’s public lecture examined human rights under Article 6 (Right to a fair trial) and Article 13 (Right to an effective remedy) of the European Convention on Human Rights, focusing on legal remedies and protections, along with a comparative discussion.

 

During the visit of the representatives of the University of Regensburg, the possibilities of creating joint educational programs were discussed.
